157 cases of ‘illegal pregnancies’ recorded in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Hisbah Commission has recorded 157 cases of illegal pregnancies in 2016.

The chairman of the commission, Aminu Karasawa, stated this in Sokoto while reviewing the commission’s achievements in 2016.

Mr. Karasawa said those involved were under aged girls and those beyond 18 years.

He said tbe underage victims had been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Human and other Related Offences (NAPTIP) and the rest to the police.
