19 CSOs applaud operational reforms in NOUN

A coalition of 19 civil society organisations (CSOs) has lauded the ongoing reforms in the operations and administration of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

The coalition, under the umbrella of Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria, disclosed this today at a world press conference held at The Statement Hotel in Central Area, Abuja.

The conference was jointly addressed by Executive Director of the umbrella body, Ambassador Agbonkpolor Splendor, and Director, Media and Publicity, Empowerment for Unemployed Youth Initiative, Comrade Danesi Momoh Prince.

They said having independently carried out an investigation into the rumours being peddled around regarding the university, they came to the conclusion that the ongoing reforms are for the betterment of the university’s services.

“Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria, Empowerment for Unemployed Youth Initiative and 17 allied civil society groups commend the management of the National Open University of Nigeria for prudence, efficiency and transparency in the management of NOUN Information System,” they said.
