Two German archeologists have been kidnapped at an excavation site in Jajela village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Aliyu Usman, the spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command confirmed on Wednesday night to our reporter that the two Germans were abducted in the morning on Wednesday.
He said the Germans took the risk of going to the site without security escorts.
“Unfortunately the victims did not go to site with the policemen attached to them for security.
“The case was reported by locals and we have swung into action to rescue them,” he said.
The police spokeperson, an assistant superintendent of police, said the anti-kidnapping, anti-cattle rustlers and special forces in the restive area of Southern Kaduna have been deployed to rescue the kidnapped expatriate.
“So far, there is no demand for ransom or contact from the abductors,” Mr Usman added.
