The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Sokoto state on Sunday inaugurated a 29-member campaign council for the 2019 election.
Our correspondent gathered that the party also inaugurated the Senatorial District Campaign Committees and Campaign Coordinators for the 23 Local Governments areas in the state.
Speaking shortly after inaugurating the committees, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, APC-Sokoto, lauded the people of the state for their support and cooperation to the party and its candidates.

Mr Wamakko said that the efforts of the members and leaders of the party would be crowned with success during the forthcoming general elections.
He assured that the members of the senatorial district and local government campaign committees would be broadened to bring on board all the critical stakeholders.
Earlier, the state APC governorship candidate, Ahmed Aliyu said APC remains the leading political party in Nigeria.
Mr Aliyu said that the party has succeeded in fielding sellable candidates across the country for the elections.
He pledged to carry everybody along if elected as the governor, adding that he would sustain the legacies of Wamakko in the state.
The state APC Chairman, Isa Achida, said that the members of the council and campaign committees were selected based on merit.
Mr Achida added that the party was intact and united, adding that “We will, in sha Allah, succeed as we are striving to emulate Sen. Wamakko”.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Muhammadu Dingyadi, promised to live above board in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Campaign Council has the former Minister of Transport, Yusuf Suleiman as Director-General while Muhammadu Sifawa, the immediate past Commissioner of Environment, is the Secretary.
Similarly, the party inaugurated its campaign council and nine different committees for the victory of the party in Gombe for the 2019 general elections.
Inaugurating the Council on Sunday in Gombe, the leader of the party in the state, Sen. Danjuma Goje called on the council to work hard for the victory of party from national to the ward levels.
He said the council and the committee members were carefully selected across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state, adding that APC was ready to take over the governorship position from the PDP in state.
Mr Goje further thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment of Suleiman Hassan as the Minister for Environment.
Inuwa Yahaya, the gubernatorial candidate called on the party supporters to exercise patience and contribute their own part for the victory of the party.
He said if all members come on board the party would emerge the winner from national to the state level.
Mr Yahaya promised that if elected in to office he would carry every one along for the development of the state.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the campaign council, Zubairu Mohammed thanked the party leaders for the confidence respond on them and pledged to work hard for the victory of the party.
He called on the people of the state to understand that the victory of party is for the development of the state and not that of the APC alone.
Mr Mohammed solicited for support, advice and prayers of party members to enable them discharge their responsibilities effectively.
The campaign council has 100 members while the nine committees has over 380 members.
