2019: Smart Adeyemi warming up to topple Melaye, canvasses support for Buhari

A former senator from Kogi west senatorial district, Smart Adeyemi, said the All Progressives Congress, APC, remained the best option for the people of the state and the country at large.

The former senator, who stated this during a tour of the Yagba federal constituency of his senatorial district, urged Nigerians to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC in the in next general election.

According to him, Nigeria’s challenges are huge but the President has shown that he is capable of addressing it all.

On his political ambition come 2019, the lawmaker said despite several calls from concerned individuals in his constituency, he, however, said he is yet to decided.

He added that he was only on the tour to see how the people of the communities are faring.

“Politics is all about service. If you want to serve the people, you will allow the will of the people to prevail. Political office holders and aspirants should have the interest of the people at heart.

“We must not be desperate about any position. Any politician who is desperate, actually, is not out to serve.”

“I want to assure that in 2019, APC will still be in power at the national level. We don’t rule out the fact that there are issues just like past governments.

“APC is still far better than other parties. If anybody tells you otherwise, it’s just a blatant lie. It is not in the interest of this country for APC to lose out.

The former national president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), said/despite the initial challenges, the Nigerian economy was picking up, urging the communities to be patient and allow the party turn the country around after eight years.

Responding at the palace of the traditional ruler of Isanlu Makuti, headquarters of Yagba Federal constituency, Oba Tolorunju Ayo, said the people of the communities will forever remain grateful to the former senator for the people-oriented projects he executed in the area while he was in the Senate.

The traditional ruler said in its choice for political candidates in 2019, the community will bear in minds those who had brought the smile to the people through such projects.
