Mr Jingir said: “Our members in the first aid unit from Sokoto state were stopped by the kidnappers and shepherded into the bush while passing through Jibya in Katsina State to Zamfara on their way back to Sokoto.”

He expressed shock that innocent people who had been rendering help to many people were kidnapped.

When asked on whether the kidnappers have contacted the leadership of the group, Mr Jingir said so far no one has contacted them.

Mr Jingir urged the kidnappers to fear Allah and see reason to release their hostages, adding that the hostages were only first aiders.
