India has appointed Abhay Thakur as its new High Commissioner to Nigeria.
Indian High Commission in Abuja disclosed this in a statement by its Second Secretary (Politics and Information), G. Tejeswar.
Upon his arrival in Abuja on Friday, Mr Thakur presented copies of his Credentials to the Acting Chief of Protocol Mohammed Maidugu, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, both sides recalled the warm and friendly relations between India and Nigeria, the leading economies in their respective regions.
They also underscored the importance of further strengthening India-Nigeria cooperation in the years ahead.
