The Gadon Kaya Underpass bridge named after the late Kogi State Governor Prince Audu Abubakar has developed cracks on Sunday, throwing motorists plying the BUK road in Kano metropolis into various degrees of difficulty.

According to a report by Kano Today, the upper part of the bridge is cracked, contorted and became unmotorable following a heavy downpour.

It was further gathered that one lane from Kofar Gadon Kaya leading to Kofar Famfo road had been closed after the bridge became unmotorable.

The bridge was constructed during the Rabiu Kwankwaso administration at the cost of N700 million.

Rocard Construction Limited executed the contract.
