Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday scampered for their safety when a snake fell off the roof and dropped down the floor of the Assembly, bringing an end to the proceedings of the House.
According to a report by The Nation, the snake came inside the chamber during plenary.
Legislative activities were said to have been suspended until the complex renovation is completed.
A source said that the Speaker of the House, David Oleyelogun directed that the lawmakers should go on recess till the renovation of the Assembly is completed.
The House of Assembly complex has been unkempt since assumption of the present assembly and no effort is made to renovate it.
Weeds have overgrown the Assembly premises, which might have attracted dangerous reptiles to the complex.
