The gunmen who kidnapped Rubochi’s traditional ruler, Ibrahim Pada, have threatened to kill him if the ransom they demanded is not paid on time.
This was disclosed by a member of the traditonaI ruler’s family who spoke to DAILY NIGERIAN in confidence on Friday.
The family member, however, refused to disclosed the amount demanded by the kidnappers.
Mr Pada has been in the kidnappers’ den since Wednesday.
It was learnt that members of the traditional ruler’s council were at the ministry of the FCT seeking help to raise an undisclosed sum to secure his release.
Mr Pada was reportedly kidnapped about 1.30 am on Wednesday at his residence by gunmen, who wore military clothes.
They reportedly shot sporadically in the air before whisking away the chief.
Two children of the traditional ruler were reportedly injured in the attack.
Mr Pada is a third class monarch whose domain is in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
