The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has directed for the distribution of dozens of donkeys to four local government areas in the state.
DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the donkeys were seized from illegal traders at Kagarko forest, who slaughter and export the skin to China.
The local governments that benefited from the governor’s magnanimity are Zaria, Soba, Kubau and Kauru.
Chairman of Soba Local Government Area, Muhammad Mahmud, told DAILY NIGERIAN that his local government were given 15 donkeys for distribution to people.
”Donkeys mean a lot to people living in the rural areas. They’re used for transportation, fetching water, sand, etc.
”I was so excited seeing people expressing their happiness to the gesture,” he added.
