A famous Hausa fiddler, Hassan Wayam, has died at the age of 64.
Family sources said he died on Friday night at a hospital in Zaria after a protracted illness.
Born in 1956 in Gwadda village in Maradun Local Government in Zamfara State, Mr Wayam started in music career in Mayanci town before settling in Zaria in 1969.
He was famous in the North West states in the 80s and 90s, and performed his live shows at bars, clubs, and city centres.
His hit songs include “Tana Kukan Kurciya”, “Ba Ni Ne Na Fada Ba, Hassan Wayam Ne Ya Fada”, “Kowac Ci Kurciya”, among others.
