There was excitement as episode seven of Laraba’s World, a Hausa-language TV drama series sponsored by Unilever’s Sunlight detergent was launched. The programme features intriguing stories around Laraba (a school teacher) and the women in her community on how she helps resolve their issues in an educative and entertaining way. The soap is aired across TV stations in the North and on DSTV.
In this week’s episode, Hajia Hadiza is puzzled by the happenings in the event centre. She places a call to her client cancelling the event, the stained tablecloths and the faulty generator during the event. In all these, the favourite heroine, Laraba is able to proffer solutions to all of these problems. In the end, the culprit is caught, thanks to Laraba’s timely intervention and teacher Ahmed’s smart move. The event is a huge success and credit goes to Laraba for having the gift of calming tension around her.
According to the Brand Manager of Sunlight detergent, Ojeabuo Akhiojemi, the drama series replicates a story of a true Sunlight woman (Laraba), who is wise, versatile and resourceful as she helps her neighbours overcome the issues they face in an educative and entertaining way.
