The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has disclosed that this week’s Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting never discussed about the controversy surrounding the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali-Pantami, as suggested by some newspapers.
Recall that Mr Pantami had been in the news recently over a now retracted newspaper report claiming that the minister was in the U.S terror watchlist.
Some group, thereafter, called for the resignation of the minister despite having no proof against the minister.
Fielding questions from the State House correspondents on Wednesday, shortly after the FEC meeting, the information and culture minister said none of such issue was discussed at the weekly executive meeting.
Mr Mohammed said: “I’m not going to go into the issue of whether government is comfortable or not. I will answer your question directly. It was not discussed at the council meeting.”
