Ganduje inaugurates APC ward, LG executives ahead of national convention

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has inaugurated all elected executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, across the 44 Local Government Areas and 484 Wards in the state, ahead of the National Convention of the party.

This is coming after the governor had defeated the G-7 faction, led by senator Ibrahim Shekarau, at the court of appeal to again full control of the party in the state.

Giving details of the inauguration, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, said the ceremony took place on Tuesday on a zonal basis, starting with Kano South, then Kano Central and ended with Kano North Senatorial District on Tuesday.

Mr Anwar said at each of the event, Mr Ganduje admomised the elected officials of the party to strive hard and make the party wax stronger.

Mr Anwar quoted the governor as saying that, “Kano being the biggest democracy in Nigeria, we have every reason to set the pace for the survival of democracy and strengthening of democracy in the country.

“You should go to all nooks and crannies in the state and make sure that our party remain strong.

The statement further explained that a total of 16 Local Government Areas, consisting of 172 wards from Kano South have 4,644 party officials from 172 wards and 432 officials.

While in Kano Central, which has 15 Local Government areas and 172 wards, there are 4,644 party officials from 172 wards and 405 officials.

“Kano North with 13 LGAs, has 351 party officials from the 13 LGAs and 3,780 officials from 140 wards,” said Mr Anwar.

According to him, Mr Ganduje assured all party officials of his unwavering support to make the party stronger.
