The Secretary to the Kano State Government, Usman Alhaji, has declared his interest to contest for governorship election in the state come 2023.
Mr Alhaji, who holds the traditional title of the Wazirin Gaya, announced this on Sunday at a dinner organized by Patriotic Volunteers for Good Governance in Kano.
The SSG promised that if he becomes the next governor of the state, his administration would continue from where Governor Abdullahi Ganduje stops.
“I intend to build on the good work of Governor Ganduje so that my administration will consolidate just like what is happening in Lagos, Kaduna and Borno States,” he said.
“You see I have been in this government for 6 years. Kano needs somebody that has integrity and pedigree that can continue the good work of the Ganduje administration,’’ he added.
