The Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for Thursday’s deadly attack inside a Shia mosque in Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province.

On its news platform Nashir, the group said soldiers of the Caliphate managed to bring an explosive bag into what they called “a major temple” and detonated it by a remote controller after the mosque became crammed with crowds.
