The Plateau State chapter of the Nigerian Aid Group of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, has called on Nigerians to lend their humanitarian support to victims of the Mangu Local Government Area attacks.

The first aid group, in a signed statement by its Secretary, Lawal Ishaq, said the appeal became necessary considering the worsening situation in which Muslims have found themselves after the attacks.

According to Mr Ishaq, many victims of the incidents are now languishing in the Internally Displaced Persons camps and are in dire need of humanitarian support.

“Following the unfortunate crisis that our Muslim brothers and sisters found themselves in Mangu town between 23rd and 24th of January 2024, which led to the killing of some and displacement of over 900 people mostly women and children and now in two emergency IDP camps created in Mangu town, and after due assessment by this organization of the camp setting and how it is being run with little or no assistance from any government at all levels, there is an urgent need to assist them,” the aid group said.
