The Ganduje ward chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Dawakin Tofa Local Government area of Kano State has suspended the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The party’s legal adviser of the Ganduje ward, Halliru Gwanjo, announced the suspension at a press conference in Kano on Monday.

Mr Gwanjo said they decided to suspend the former Kano governor from the party at the ward level due to corruption allegations against him by the state government.

They said the suspension begins from today, April 15, until when he is cleared of the allegations.

Nine executive members of the party signed the suspension notice at the ward level.

Recall that the state government had dragged Mr Ganduje to court over allegations of bribery.

The former governor would be arraigned on April 17.

When contacted, the chairman of APC, Kano state Chapter, Abdullahi Abbas, said the State Working Committee had already suspended those behind the Mr Ganduje’s suspension for six months, disclosing that a special investigation panel had been set up to verify several allegations against them.

“We at the state level, have since adopted the decisions of the Local Government Party leadership, and they we have commenced investigation into the allegations of anti-party activities against them.

“We have evidence of meetings between the State Government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman, and state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand for now suspended,” he added.
