President Bola Tinubu has appointed the governorship candidate of APC in Kano, Nasiru Gawuna, as chairman of the governing council of Bayero University, Kano.
Other members of the BUK governing council include Abubakar Dauda, Nora Alo, Ibrahim Obanikoro and Musa Abbas.
At least 31 institutions are affected by the reconstitution of the governing boards.
On May 23, President Bola Tinubu directed a comprehensive review of the governing boards of tertiary institutions, following public outcry over non-reflection of federal character.
The president also ordered the review to be done before the inauguration and retreat being planned for the nominees on May 31.
