Katsina govt inaugurates 37th anniversary celebration committee

The Katsina State Government on Tuesday inaugurated a seven-member committee to facilitate the smooth conduct of the state’s 37th anniversary celebration, scheduled for Sept. 23.

The committee was inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Abdullahi Garba-Faskari, on behalf of the Gov. Dikko Radda.

Mr Garba-Faskari said the Governor directed the formation of the committee, with the goal of reflecting on the state’s achievements and planning for its future.

Mr The inauguration highlighted the significance of the state’s creation on Sept. 23, 1987, and the importance of the milestone.

“The anniversary will provide an opportunity for us to evaluate what has been accomplished, what we are currently doing, and what we intend to achieve in the future,” he said.

The committee, chaired by the SSG, comprised of prominent figures from across the various government ministries.

Among the members are: The Head of Civil Service, the Attorney General, Commissioners for Works; Housing and Transport; Lands and Physical Planning; Information and Culture, and Women Affairs.

According to him, each ministry is fully involved in the planning process, with the committee empowered to include additional members as needed, to ensure a successful celebration.

He said that the committee’s mandate was to organise a smooth and memorable celebration, determine the key events, guest invitations, overall presentation of the state’s history and future plans.

“We are committed to delivering a celebration that highlights the state’s achievements, projects and its future growth,” Mr Garba-Faskari said.

He called for cooperation from all the government departments and stakeholders, to ensure the success of the anniversary.
