A former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has officially declared his intention to contest in the 2027 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State.
Mr Adamu said he would be contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mr Adamu declared his interest during a meeting with members of the State Working Committee of the APC in Lafia on Wednesday.
The former police chief said his decision was in response to a “clarion call” from people of the state.
He said his leadership capacity and experience stand him out among the list of aspirants seeking the governorship seat.
He said if elected he would run an all-inclusive and people-orientated administration.
“I am answering the call of my people who believe I can serve and move Nasarawa forward.
“My administration, by the grace of God, will be inclusive, transparent, and focused on delivering tangible development across all sectors,” Mr Adamu stated.
