A reporter with the DAILY NIGERIAN, Umar Audu, has lost his mother, Saratu Isah-Shehu.

She died at the age of 55 on Saturday at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a protracted illness.

Announcing the death, Mr Audu, who is the eldest son of the deceased, described her passing as the greatest shock and most traumatizing experience of his life.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. It is with a heavy heart, but with total submission to the will of Allah, that I announce the death of my beloved mother, Saratu Isah-Shehu.

“Her death is the greatest shock and most traumatizing experience of my life. Her absence will leave a vacuum in our hearts, but we are comforted by the beautiful memories she gave us and the legacy of love, kindness, and strength she leaves behind.

“Even in her illness, my mother devoted her time to worshipping Allah and remained strong until the last moment. I pray to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus,” Mr Audu said.

The deceased is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

The funeral prayer will take place in Minna, Niger State on Sunday.
