Over one thousand intending pilgrims from Jigawa State have completed the payment of this year’s Hajj fares.
There has been concerns over the ability of some intending pilgrims to complete the Hajj fares ever since the incremental disclosure of the fares by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON.
But the public relation officer of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ibrahim Hashimu Kanya made this known to DAILY NIGERIAN reporter.
He said with the extension of the payment period, some intending pilgrims have now completed the payment of their Hajj fares within the stipulated period.
Mr Kanya said the board has begun the process of visa application to pilgrims that completed their payment. He said some passport have been taken to the visa office for processing.
According to him the daily seminar for the pilgrims is in progress to enable them have knowledge of how to perform a hitch-free Hajj operation.
Mr Kanya, who did not specify whether the figure represents the total number of the state’s intending pilgrims or now, however, said preparation for this year’s hajj exercise in the state has reached an advanced stage.
