The John Oyegun-led National Working Committee, NWC, has received a 12 month tenure extension.
This decision was reached during the just-concluded All Progressives Congress, APC, NEC meeting attended by President Muhammdu Buhari and other party chieftains.
This extension is effective from June this year when the lifespan of the current NWC is expected to end.
The NEC meeting, which is the first for the year and the fourth caucus meeting of the party, was attended by Ministers, Governors and APC stalwarts from the 36 States of the federation.
However, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki was conspicuously absent at the meeting attended by the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and members of the National Assembly.
Also present at the meeting is the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom who had recently vowed not to attend any political gathering pending the resolution of the farmers/herdsmen clashes.
