Controversy has since ensued over an identity card belonging to one of the leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, was allegedly found at the scene of a recent attack by suspected herdsmen in Plateau state.
The Irigwe Development Association had alleged that the card, which belongs to Sakariya Idris, the deputy chairman of the association in Bassa local government area of Plateau state, was recovered at a scene of an attack allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
However, in a swift reaction, MACBAN said that the ID card was stolen by Irigwe youths who attacked the house of Mr Idris while he was praying in the mosque.
Speaking on the development, the President of IDA and former member, Plateau State House of Assembly, Sunday Abdu, said, “The identity card was seen at the scene of an attack where people were killed.
“The issue of identity card is a small matter. We also recovered telephone handsets. We have reported the matter to the Police and the items have been taken for investigation.”
Meanwhile, the police have commenced an investigation.
