Absence of a couple in a Customary Court sitting in Jikwoyi, Abuja on Wednesday, stalled hearing in a divorce petition filed by Uju Ndukuba against her husband, Kingsley.
Mrs Ndukuba filed a divorce petition against her husband, Kingsley over alleged drunkenness and unhealthy lifestyle.
When the matter came up, the Presiding Judge, Jemilu Jega, noticed that parties were not in court.

The court observed that the petitioner and the respondent who were absent at the resumption of hearing did not also file any correspondence explaining the reasons for their absence.
“Since this case is coming up for the first time, and the parties are not in court, we will adjourn the case until Aug. 19, for mention.
“Whenever he gets drunk, he will come home late, and will throw up start, leaving everywhere messed up
“When I try to advice him, he will beat me up. Sometimes I feel like committing suicide because of his attitude.” she stated.
