A Niger State activist and political commentator, Yahaya Mohd Usman, has threatened to write to foreign embassies to deny or revoke the visas of some former governors and political leaders who allegedly participated in destroying the state.
Mr Usman, who made the threats in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday evening, said doing so would expose the families to the roots they left behind after serving.
“I will soon write to the US and other foreign embassies to deny/revoke visas of those who participated in destroying Niger state. This includes their family members and their kids studying abroad.
“Now that most of them are falling sick, they must stay to enjoy the rubbish they made of the state,” he said.
Earlier, the activist lambasted the immediate past governor of the state, Abubakar Sani-Bello, over alleged incompetence and underperformance.
While acknowledging the installation of solar street lights in major streets of the state by the current government, the activist said: “Aswear! if I were Lolo I will go on Radio and seek public forgiveness from Nigerilites and never go near public office again.
“This is ordinary streetlight that is not rocket science he couldn’t do.
“This is not to say Gov. Bago did anything spectacular; streetlights are normal things that should be available even in Wawa or even Mazakuka Village.
“But unfortunately, some leaders are just greedy, selfish, and visionless. So they come, destroy what they meet, and leave with nothing to show.”
