The All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, has announced the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of the national convention of the party.
Mr Adamu, who made the announcement on Monday during a meeting of the National Working Committee, cited his consultation with President Muhammadu Buhari as reason for the coice.
The decision was reportedly rejected by some of the NWC members, insisting that other presidential aspirants must be allowed to contest the primary election.
