The National Youth Service Corps ,NYSC, has mandated all eligible prospective corps members to register with their National Identification Numbers, NIN.

This followed an undercover report by DAILY NIGERIAN which exposed many lapses in corps members’ mobilisation.

The NYSC director of press and public relations, Eddy Megwa, in a statement on Wednesday, said the new policy formed part of the resolution of a meeting between the NYSC management, led by the Director General, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, and the management of National Identification Management Commission, NIMC, led by its Director General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in Abuja.

According to the statement, Mr Ahmed said the collaboration with NIMC on corps mobilisation would strengthen the online registration process for the scheme.

He added that the NYSC integrated system has tremendously assisted the scheme in its mobilisation process, but there is a need for improvement.

On her part, Mrs Odusote promised the readiness of the commission for collaboration between both agencies.

She said the synergy would simplify the entire mobilisation process and also address multiple issues.

She added that the commission has partnered with several government agencies while promising to present the best services to the nation.
