Some All Progressives Congress, APC, governors who met President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Thursday are currently meeting with the chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, at his campaign office along Aso Drive, Abuja.
The meetings are being held following the controversies that have trailed APC governorship and senatorial primaries in some states such as Zamfara, Ondo, Kaduna and Ogun.
Recall that governors Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Abubakar Bello of Niger states, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo and Simon Lalong of Plateau states met with Mr Buhari earlier today.
Although the agenda of the meeting is not made public, political feelers opine that the meeting might not be unconnected with the controversies surrounding the party primaries which pitched the party leadership with some of the governors.
However, briefing the State House correspondents after the meeting, Mr Okorocha said: “We came to review the various crises characterizing our primaries especially the APC with a view to finding solution.
“So, we are looking for a way out in this regard. We are going to find solution, our party believes in justice, equity and fairness.
“We are requesting that let the right thing be done and let everyone contest the elections,” he added.
