Again, bandits attack Zamfara community, kill 14, abduct 40

Unknown gunmen have attacked Kawaye settlement in Bagega village of Anka local government area of Zamfara state at about 5pm on Tuesday.

According to a report by The Nation, during the attach, several cars, houses and shops were burnt to ashes and an unspecified number of animals and foodstuffs were carted away by the bandits.

Army Spokesman of Operation Sharar Daji, Clement Abiade, confirmed the incident but did not specify the number of persons killed and the amount of property damage.

He stressed that the Army is investigating and compiling the damage, adding that the army would interact with journalists on Thursday by 2pm.

Mr Abiade disclosed that the military attached to the Operation Sharar Daji were immediately deployed to the area and succeeded in killing five of the bandits.
