The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has sent words of empathy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar whose son was tested positive for Coronavirus.
Recall that on Sunday evening, Mr Atiku had disclosed that his son had contacted Coronavirus and was now in Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital receiving treatment.
Reacting, via her Twitter handle, the First Lady prayed for the quick recovery of Atiku’s son.
She wrote: “Your Excellency, it’s with deep sense of concern that I extend my sincere prayers towards the quick recovery of your dear son.
“Allah renu en Amin.”
Meanwhile, the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed the death of a 67-year-old male Coronavirus patient, Sulaiman-Achimugu, who contacted the virus returned home following medical treatment in UK.
Mr Achimugu was a former Managing Director of Petroleum Pricing Monitoring Corporation, PPMC.
According to the NCDC, the deceased also had underlying medical conditions- multiple myeloma & diabetes & was undergoing chemotherapy.
Recall that in the early hours of today, Monday, the centre confirmed five new cases of Coronavirus disease, bringing the number of infected persons to 35 across the country.
Giving the breakdown on their Twitter handle, the NCDC said two cases were in Abuja, another two in Lagos and one case was also confirmed in Edo State.
“Five new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 2 in Lagos & 1 in Edo 2 cases are returning travellers from the UK As at 09:45 am on 23rd March, there are 35 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged,” the centre wrote.
