Aisha Buhari reaffirms commitment to general wellbeing of women, children

The first lady, Aisha Buhari, on Tuesday reaffirmed her commitment towards improving the health and general wellbeing of women and children in Nigeria.

The first lady gave the assurance when she donated medical equipment to the General Hospital Suleja, Niger State.

Represented by the Special Assistant to the President on Health and Development Partners Dr Victoria Ogala-Akogwu, she enjoined the beneficiaries to utilise the items for the benefit of patients.

She said that the gesture was in continuation of the nationwide medical outreach aimed at improving the health and the general wellbeing of women and children in Nigeria.

“The first lady is passionate and concern about the health and wellbeing of women and children.

“So, on behalf of the first lady, we present these set of mama kits, wheel chairs, sanitary kits, face masks as well as sanitisers for the use of the benefit of patients’’ she said.

Responding, the Medical Director of the Hospital Dr. Adedokun Abdulaziz, who received the items on behalf of the management of the Hospital, expressed gratitude to the first lady for her kind gesture.

He assured her of their readiness to use the items judiciously for the betterment of the patients
