The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, wanted over alleged N80.2 billion fraud.

In a bulletin issued on Thursday, the commission said that Mr Bello was declared wanted for offences relating to economic and financial crimes.

“Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 billion.

“Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest police station.

Recall that in attempts to arrest Mr Bello ahead of his arraignment in court on Thursday, the EFCC operatives laid a siege on his Abuja residence for hours.

But Mr Bello eventually escaped arrest after Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, allegedly whisked him away.
