Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state on Saturday attributed the success recorded by his administration in the past one year to the partnership existing between the state and the Federal Government.

Mr Mohammed, who stated this in Bauchi during an interactive session with newsmen to mark his first year anniversary in office, commended the Buhari-led Federal Government, adding that without such partnership, some of the projects executed would not have seen the light of the day.

“Everything we have done within the period of one-year is to show the people that we can do it with little resources.

“What we are doing is financial management; I always give the example of education; we are not giving more but we are getting 300 per cent, same thing with works and health.

“We are getting more in terms of the takeaways with the little resources that we have and we must thank the Federal Government. No state will work without the Federal Government.

“I know the importance of partnership because I am a ‘federalist’ who has always worked with the Federal Government.

“My administration, through SUBEB, gave N500 million counterpart fund and got N5 billion from the Federal Government,” said the governor, a member of the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

Mohammed said he wondered why such partnership had not been explored in the past.

He called on all members of his administration to make sacrifices with a view to taking the state to the Promised Land.
