Representative of Madagali/Michika federal constituency of Adamawa state in the House of Representative, Adamu Kamale has renounced his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This is coming barely two weeks after his counterpart from Plateau, Edward Pwajok, took similar position, which drew the ire of the PDP leadership in the lower chamber.
Mr Kamale, in a letter read by the Speaker of the House Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday, said factions existing in his erstwhile party was the ground upon which his decision as premised.
But soon after the speaker read the letter, minority whip in the House, Yakubu Barde objected the decision of the member.
Mr Barde said there was no truth in citing divisions and factions to quit the party.
Mr Barde, from Kaduna state cited relevant rules to object the defected member’s action, and threatening that PDP will head to court to challenge Kamale.
