The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kano State has suspended the House of Representatives member representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency, Sha’aban Sharada.
The suspension is contained in a statement signed on Wednesday by Abdullahi Sharada, the APC Chairman of Sharada Ward in the Municipal Local Government Area of the state.
According to the statement, Mr Sharada was suspended over alleged anti-party activities and political high-handedness in the state.
The statement added that Mr Sharada, who is the Chairman of House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, had been banned for a period of one year.
While the suspension remains, according to the party, Mr Sharada is banned from partaking in all its activities at all levels.
The chairman said that the APC in Sharada Ward had received series of complaints by aggrieved members of the party over Mr Sharada’s alleged high-handedness.
“After conducting a series of meetings, held by the APC executives in the ward, it has been resolved that he be suspended from the party,” the party declared.
Mr Sharada is a former media aide to President Muhammad Buhari on broadcast media.
DAILY NIGERIAN recalled that Mr Sharada had been at loggerheads with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and other top party chieftains in the state.
The embattled lawmaker had recently alleged that the party refused to register him during the APC’s registration and revalidation exercise at his ward in order to truncate his future political ambition.
