The All Progressives Congress, APC, Youths Concerned Forum, has called for the cancellation of the just concluded APC, Local Government congress in Keffi Local Government over manipulation and lack of adherence to the party’s legal framework.
Leader of the forum, Nura Shehu, made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
Mr Nura also emphasised the need for the conduct of a fresh congress for the position of the APC Chairman in keffi and other positions to ensure that credible persons get elected into all the position.
He explained that the call for the cancellation of the congress became neccessary due to complaints of manipulations and imposition of candidates for the position of chairmanship in the just concluded APC congresses in Keffi.
Mr Nura claimed that Article 12 sub 13 of the APC constitution for the composition of Council Area Executive Committee was breached.
“We are calling for the investigation of the entire process that was marred by intimidation of party’s executives members and harassment by the some top officials of the party.”
He appealed to the National Executive Committee of APC under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state to as a matter of urgency wade into the issue to ensure fairness and justice was served.
Mr Nura also begged the leadership of APC to restore the leadership of the party to the original excos of the party pending when legal congress was conducted in line with the law of the party.
