The National Universities Commission, NUC, has withdrawn its circular which ordered the immediate reopening of all public tertiary institutions in the country.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the NUC had through a letter signed by its Director of Finance and Account, Sam Onazi, ordered all vice-chancellors; Pro-Chancellors and chairmen of governing councils of federal universities to resume academic activities.

But in another circular which was also signed by Mr Onazi, the NUC asked the vice-chancellors to disregard the initial letter.
