Bashir El-Rufai, the son of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, has called for the scrapping of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, describing it as a useless union.
Mr Bashir’s call is coming shortly after the university lecturers extended their six months strike indefinitely.
Writing on his Twitter handle on Monday, the Kaduna governor’s son said the union should be replaced with educators who have the interest of students at heart.
“ASUU is a very useless union. They should be scrapped & replaced with educators that actually give a damn about students and how that translates to the future of this country,” he tweeted.
THE PEOPLE ARE ALREADY TURNING AGAINST THE MOST ABSURDITY OF AN INSENSITIVE ASUU.
Bashir El-Rufai may be right. ASUU has become USELES to its course and standing in the society. A well-deserved scorn awaits the body of striking commercial university entrepreneurs.
ASUU HAS BECOME IRRELEVANT AND INCOSEQUENTIAL.
They can strike till kingdom come. Nobody cares anymore.
