Barely a week after a fighter jet was shot down by bandits, at least six people have been killed and 12 others abducted in a deadly attack in Dansadau town in Zamfara State.
The bandits first dislodged a military station at the town, setting an armoured personnel carrier on fire before descending on the town.
Dansadau town, which is about 90-km distance from the state capital Gusau, is a hotspot for banditry, cattle rustling and kidnapping.
Witnesses told DAILY NIGERIAN that the bandits invaded the town around 2am on Friday, killed six residents and abducted 12 people including a woman carrying 8-month pregnancy.
One of the residents whose pregnant wife and three sons were abducted said apart from those killed and abducted, many residents sustained gunshot injuries.
“My 8-month pregnant wife and three sons were among the 12 people abducted. May of our relations are currently in the hospital.
“This is difficult for me to bear. Kindly help tell the authorities to rescue my wife and sons,” he sobbed.
This Dansadau attack is coming barely a few days after 100 kidnapped victims from Manawa village under the Dansadau district were released by the marauders.
