About 100 gun-wielding bandits have reportedly invaded Bakali Village, Fatika District of Giwa local government area of Kaduna state, setting ablaze 16 family members on Tuesday night.
The Vanguard quoted one of the community leaders, Sani Bakali, as confirming the invasion, saying that the bandits stormed the village on motorbikes wielding dangerious weapons.
“They invaded our village on Tuesday around 4 pm and burnt down many bags of maize, cars, buses and motorcycles. They looked so dangerous.”
“It was so tragic when the bandits gathered 16 members of a family in a one-room, locked them up and burnt them,” a source said.
However, the police in Kaduna told journalists in a phone conversation that they would confirm the incident before making any comment.
