Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the revalidation of employment of 1,061 pre-service medical students into the state’s civil service.

This is contained in a statement by Yahuza Haruna, Bauchi state Head of Civil Service, HoS, in Bauchi, on Wednesday.

According to him, the move was part of the state government’s efforts to improve the health sector from the grassroots levels, as well as a human capital investment in the sector.

Mr Haruna, however, explained that the true position of the pre-service medical students would be ascertained before the appointment letters would be issued to them.

The HoS also revealed that Gov. Mohammed had also directed the verification of veterinary students of the state Ministry of Agriculture for proper placement into the state’s main civil service.

The state pre-service medical students are students from colleges of Health Technology, schools of midwifery, who had been providing medical services in the state without proper employment.
