The lawmaker representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Mansur Manu-Soro, is set to empower 9,500 women with a grant to start up micro-businesses for self-reliance.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after visiting Kariya Ward of Ganjuwa local government in continuation of the prospective beneficiaries identification exercise, the lawmaker said the initiative was aimed at gainfully engaging the womenfolk in his constituency.

He said: “Encouraging micro-businesses for self-reliance is central to our initiatives to gainfully engage the womenfolk in Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency.

“The history of my electoral fortunes can only be complete by inscribing the sacrifices made by thousands of women both at primaries and general election.

“I am, therefore, irrevocably committed to relinquishing the little within our reach to improve their conditions as caregivers of our families,” Mr Manu-Soro stressed.

Operating under his foundation, Mansur Manu Soro, MMS, Foundation, the lawmaker stated that the prospective beneficiaries of the grant would also be trained in the art of business.
