Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in the Bauchi State have elected new leaders to run the affairs of the union in the state for the next three years.
The election for the office of chairman which was keenly contested among four contestants, finally saw Ibrahim Goje, Head of ICT Unit of the Bauchi Radio Corporation, emerging as new chairman.
Others include Isa Gadau of the BATV as vice chairman, Yakubu Lame of the State Ministry of Information as Secretary and Kabiru Garba of the BRC who was elected as Assistant Secretary.

The rest include Najib Sani of the correspondent chapel as Financial Secretary, Abubakar Waziri of Radio Nigeria Globe FM Bauchi as Treasurer and Danjuma Sale of the BRC who was elected as Auditor.
Inaugurating the newly elected officials, Deputy National President of the union Muktar Gidado, urged them to be guided by the constitution of the union in order to promote professionalism among members and to consolidate on the achievements of their predecessors.
In her remarks, the vice President of the union in charge of the north east Aisha Ibrahim, congratulated the winners at the polls and called on them to imbibe the spirit of love, tolerance and honesty in their affairs.
According to her, the zonal office of the union plans to conduct Peace Summit, Media Games as well as seminars and workshops in Gombe, Adamawa and Borno states for members in the zone within this year.
Responding, the new chairman of the union in the state Ibrahim Goje, thanked the zonal and national leadership of the union for their contributions to the success of the election.
He pledged to abide by constitutional provisions in the discharge of his responsibility.
