The Bauchi State Government has confirmed recording four suspected cases of Cerebro‎-Spinal Meningitis, CSM in the state.

Adamu Gamawa, the executive chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, BSPHCDA, confirmed the outbreak to newsmen in Bauchi on Thursday.

Mr Gamawa said one of the suspected cases was confirmed to be a Streptococcus Pneumonia, a strain which does not cause an epidemic.

He added that one other case was under investigation as samples had been taken for analysis to confirm whether it ‎is meningitis or another disease.

Mr Gamawa however advised residents to avoid sleeping in crowded and unventilated rooms to avoid contracting the disease.

He urged the people to quickly report any noticed case of abnormality in their body to the nearest health facility.
