Bayelsa election: Accord Party expresses confidence in INEC

Accord Party candidate in the upcoming Bayelsa gubernatorial election, Diriyai Ebizimor,  has expressed confidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will be neutral in conducting the election.
Mr Ebizimor, while speaking to newsmen in Owerri on Monday, said that there were strong indications thst INEC’ had prepared for a credible, fair and peaceful election.
“I have no doubt in the ability of INEC to conduct a peaceful and credible election in Bayelsa.
“I am calling on Bayelsa people to collect their voter cards and rise up to exercise their franchise,” he said.
Mr Ebizimor commended the security agencies for their proactive roles in enthroning a peaceful atmosphere in the state ahead of the election.
“I am confident that they will have less work to do during the election because of the level of peace already being enjoyed in the state,” he said.
He urged party faithful to remain committed towards building a strong party in the state.
Mr Ebizimor further said that he had no intention to leave the party, saying that his intention was to solidify Accord Party’s presence in the state.
He said that his party had programmes capable of turning the fortune of the state around if elected.
“If elected governor, I shall work to make the state the glory of all lands by implementing people-oriented programmes,” he said.
