The wife of the Bauchi state governor and the Chairperson of the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum, Hadiza MA Abubakar on Thursday, congratulated the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Ramadan as the holy month begins.

A statement signed by the first lady’s Press Secretary, Rashida Yusuf Tintin, Mrs Abubakar called on all the Muslims to be committed, constantly Prayerful during the fasting period.

According to her, the season calls for sober reflection and imbibition of the spirit of giving out to the needy and the less-privileged in the society.

“During this Holy month, I advise all Nigerian Muslims and Christians to eat together, feed the needy and pray for our beloved country.

“I also encourage the wives of northern Governors and other spirited individuals to put hands together in providing foodstuff to the IDPs and orphanage homes.

“I also want to urge the Muslim Ummah to seize this opportunity to pray to God to bring an end to the insurgency and the unrest in different parts of the country, and the world at large.

“May this Ramadan period bring unity amongst us, build harmonious relationships with one another,” the first lady said.
