Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has cut short his vacation in order to return home and address the ongoing killing in the state by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen.
In a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase Mr Ortom who is in China would arrive Makurdi any moment to help tackle the security challenges.
Recall that on Tuesday morning, 2 Catholic priests and 11 Parishioners were reportedly killed during a church service at a church in Mbalom, Gwest east local government area in Benue State.
This brings the number of people killing by suspected Fulani herdsmen to 45 since Governor Ortom proceeded on his annual leave.
Last week killing took place in Logo, Guma, Makurdi and Naka by suspected Fulani militia.
